Thank you so much for giving The Crowned Envy a chance. Welcome to Ishvara — a kingdom of crowns, secrets, forbidden desires, dangerous loyalties, and far too many things left unsaid.

This story is very close to my heart, born from late nights, endless daydreams, and a little obsession with royal courts, forbidden romance, and complicated characters.

Before you dive in, here are a few little notes from your author <33:

1) English isn't my first language.
Please excuse any small grammatical mistakes, awkward phrasing, or little imperfections you may come across. I do my best to improve with every chapter, and I truly hope nothing takes you out of the story or interrupts your reading experience.

Especially when it comes to the people who seem the easiest to understand.

In Ishvara, appearances can be deceiving, loyalties can change, and not everyone is exactly who they appear to be. So please, give them time.

Some characters will frustrate you. Some will surprise you. And some may make you question everything you thought you knew about them.

5) Set in the 15th century, this is a royal romance—but don't expect a simple love story.
There will be passion, political intrigue, palace secrets, family expectations, power struggles, jealousy, forbidden feelings, and a romance that was never supposed to happen.

Duty will always come before desire. At least, that's what they're supposed to believe.

This isn't a story where everything is black and white. Sometimes, the line between devotion and obsession becomes dangerously thin.

6) Some themes may include:
royalty, historical romance, forbidden romance, princess × protector, bodyguard romance, slow burn, political intrigue, arranged marriage, power struggles, jealousy, possessiveness, betrayal, manipulation, family conflicts, grief, emotional wounds, violence, secrets, societal expectations, and mature themes.

Some elements may become intense as the story progresses, so please read according to your own boundaries.

7) Please check the Warnings & Tropes before reading.
Certain themes may be uncomfortable or intense for some readers. I will do my best to provide appropriate warnings when necessary, but please always prioritize your own comfort while reading.

8) This story is entirely fictional.
Ishvara, its royal families, characters, relationships, events, political conflicts, traditions, and locations are products of my imagination.

While the story may draw inspiration from historical and Indian cultural elements, Ishvara itself is a fictional kingdom created entirely for this story. Any resemblance to real people, places, events, or historical figures is purely coincidental.

9) You may notice Indian cultural influences throughout the story.
Expect Indian-inspired names, Hindi terms, traditions, family dynamics, clothing, architecture, ceremonies, and cultural references woven throughout the world of Ishvara.

I wanted the setting to feel rich, atmospheric, and deeply rooted in the influences that inspired me, while still creating a fictional world of my own.

I hope you'll enjoy discovering it along the way!!

10) Please be kind.
Constructive criticism is always welcome, and I'm always happy to learn and improve. But please remember that there is a real person behind these chapters who has poured time, effort, and love into them.

You can dislike a character without attacking another reader for loving them. You can disagree with a choice without disrespecting someone else's opinion.

P.S. I held off publishing this story because I wanted to make sure this book felt exactly the way I imagined it in my head. It took a lot of late nights, rewrites, daydreaming, and questionable amounts of coffee, but it's finally here!
